The Mission

There are numerous recorded instances of the love of Prophet Muhammad r for children. In his book, ‘Muhammad: Prophet and Statesman’, the Orientalist W. Montgomery Watt writes (page 229):

Thirdly: The Jews and the Christians sided with the pagan Arabs against Islam

The Prophet peace be upon him saw his followers standing up to their convictions in spite of persecutions, and his heart was laden with grief. And since he could do nothing to protect them, he advised his followers to migrate to the country of the Christian ruler, Negus of Abyssinia, who was reputed to be just and kindhearted. It was a friendly country, said the Prophet peace be upon him, where the Muslims could stay until such time as God relieved them of their distress.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Abu Bakr (radiallahu 'anhu) and told him that God had given him permission to migrate from Mecca. Abu Bakr (radiallahu 'anhu) exclaimed, Together, O Prophet (peace be upon him) of God?; for he was anxious to keep him company. Then Abu Bakr (radiallahu 'anhu) presented two dromedaries he had been keeping in time for the purpose. Abdallah Ibn Urayqit was hired by Abu Bakr (radiallahu 'anhu) to act as a guide.

The teachings of Islam were so contagious that the people of the Aus and the Khazraj, awakened to interest, quickly attested their faith in it. Sad Ibn Muadh was the first to embrace, then Usayd Ibn Hudayr, the leader of Bani Abdul Ashhal, a clan of Aus followed suit. The wise and courteous stance of Musab Ibn Umary, together with the proper manner in which he presented Islam to them, convinced these people of the truth that is Islam.

The spread of Islam among the tribes further aggravated the resentment of the Quraysh. They came together and decided to draw up a decree ostracizing Bani Hashim and Bani Abdul Muttalib. It was decided that nobody should marry the women of these two clans nor give their women to them in marriage; neither should they buy from nor sell to them. Having solemnly agreed to these points, the agreement was put into writing and the parchment was hung in the Kaba in order to give it a religious sanction thereby making it mandatory for all.

The Prophet of God peace be upon him preached Islam openly in the streets of Mecca, yet the Quraysh remained cool and indifferent to him; neither did they turn against him nor did they ever feel that their Religion was at stake. They did not even care to refute the Prophet peace be upon him but when he started talking critically of their gods, they felt offended and decided to rebuke him. Muhammad peace be upon him would have been at the mercy from the radicals of the merchants republic of Mecca, but Abu Talib, the Prophet's uncle, continued to treat him kindly and stood up in his defense.

Secondly: The Fanatical Adherence Of The Pagan Arabs To The Cultural Heritage They Inherited From Their Ancestors

ACCEPTANCE OF ISLAM BY KHADIJAH(May Allah be pleased with her)

Khadijah (May Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet's peace be upon him wife, was the first believer in the new faith. She had the opportunity of being his companion and helper, his consort and supporter. She always stood behind him, consoling and giving him support against all those who denied and scorned him. She tried to relieve his apprehensions and encouraged him by reinforcing her trust in him.

on What Prophet Muhammad Gave to Humanity

Dr. Adel Ben-Ali Al-Shady

All praise is due to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon His final Messenger.

Some non-Muslim westerners have been wondering what it is that Prophet Muhammad r presented to humanity, particularly after the defamation of his honourable character by the western media.
