The Sealed Nectar

The Sealed Nectar by Shaykh Safi ur-Rahman

Born 570 C.E. (Christian Era); died 633 C.E.

The following is based on books, manuscripts, texts and actual eyewitness accounts, too numerous to mention herein, preserved in original form throughout the centuries by both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Many people today are discussing Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Who was he exactly? What did he teach? Why was he loved so much by some and hated so much by others? Did he live up to his claims? Was he a holy man? Was he a prophet of God? What is the truth about this man?

You be the judge.

God’s Messenger, upon him be peace and blessings, was trustworthy and encouraged trustworthiness. Once, during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, his wife Safiyya visited him while he confined himself in mosque for constant prayer. As he escorted her home, two of his Companions happened to pass by. The Messenger stopped them and, unveiling the face of his wife Safiyya, said to them, Look, this is my wife, Safiyya!

Have you ever fallen in love? Have you ever become infatuated by someone? Have you ever been eager to see someone more than anything else?

Character

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “One who covers up the failings of someone in this world will have his shortcomings covered up by God on the Day of Judgment.” - Riyadh us-Saleheen, 240

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "By his good character, a believer will attain the degree of one who prays during the night and fasts during the day." - Abu Dawood, Hadith 2233

The word "ghaib" in the Qur'an is used for hidden things that man cannot see or know. Things that will happen in the future are unknown to us, for instance. Yet everything to do with the future, the future of every individual, country, building and piece of furniture is known to Allah. This is how the Prophet (peace be upon him) was told to explain the knowledge of the invisible (ilm-ul-ghaib) lies solely with Allah:

Islam seeks to guarantee the freedom of property owners to spend, give away, and invest it as he or she deems fit. With the exception of three general guidelines, set for the befit of society, such freedom of disposal is virtually unrestrained.

Justice and Practicality

As a complete way of life, Islam has provided guidelines and rules for ever sphere of society. Naturally, a functioning economic system is vital of a healthy society, as the consumption of goods and services and the facilitation of this by a common medium of exchange play a major role in allowing people to realize their material and other goals in life.
