The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"It is not an act of piety to fast while on a journey." [Al-Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

“Allah the Almighty said, ‘All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him: the good deeds will be multiplied ten times to seven hundred time, except fasting, which is for Me and I will reward for it accordingly. He abandons his (sexual) desire, food and drink for Me.’ Verily, there are two joyous and pleasurable moments for the fasting person: one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other is when he will meet his Lord (in the Hereafter). Verily, the unpleasant odour emanating from the mouth of the fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the scent of musk.” [Al-Bukhari & Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"In Paradise there is a gate called al-Rayyan. Those who have fasted will enter by it on the Day of Resurrection There will be an announcement asking, "Where are those who have fasted?" Then they will get up, and none but they will enter by that gate. As soon as they have entered, the gate will be closed and no one else will enter that way." [Al-Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"When Ramadan arrives, Heaven's gates are opened, Hell's gates are closed and the demons are chained up." [Al-Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"As for the person who will not give up speaking and practising falsehood, God doesn't require him to give up his food and drink!" [Al-Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"Eat a light meal before daybreak during Ramadan. A blessing is attached to this meal." [Al-Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said:

"The person who inadvertently eats and drinks should continue the fast, because it is God who made him eat and drink." [Al-Bukhari]
