Â’ishah relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah loves that when one of you engages in any work, he should carry it out with proficiency.” The hadîth is related by al-Bayhaqî in Shu`ab al-Îmân (5080, 5081 and 5082) and authenticated by al-Albânî. This hadîth applies to all lawful endeavors. Its meaning is universal. Whenever a person shows concern for his work, others will value it more. When a chef prepares the main course, he makes it stand out from the other dishes. He takes every care in its preparation and its presentation… and it shows.

The Arabic word “Sunnah” can be literally translated as a “well-trodden path,” and may be understood to mean the customary practice of a person or group. Within an Islamic context, the Sunnah refers to the religious teaching and customary religious practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). With regard to the Sunnah, the Qur’an repeatedly proclaims that Muslims are to obey the Prophet Muhammad and to follow his illustrious example of behaviour and conduct. As such, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is religiously authoritative and binding on all Muslims.

General Clarification regarding the Danish people

Freedom of opinion and expression is guaranteed in Islam and considered one of its main contributions to the world more than 1400 years ago. In fact, all divine faiths, religions and laws ensure freedom of opinion and expression with the provision that such expression does not lead to abuse and discrimination of others or incite hatred- religious or ethnic. One of the worst forms of religious discrimination is ridiculing the prophets and messengers.

7 Tips for a Healthier Ramadan

Eat Suhur

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, highly recommend eating this pre-dawn meal before a day of fasting. While you may want to pass to catch some more sleep, remember that you can always take a catnap while you're fasting, but you won't be able to eat or drink. To make it easier, set out utensils and dry food on the table before going to bed so you can quickly eat and go back to sleep after Suhur.

Limit fat intake

Eat, drink and be moderate
Almost all of us do it - once Iftar time hits, we just keep plowing food and drink into our mouths till it's hard to move afterwards. And those of us who do it know this is totally contrary to the spirit of Ramadan, through which we're supposed to learn self-control not self-indulgence. Let's try to stick to the Prophetic rule on eating: fill our stomachs with one-third food, one-third water and one-third breathing space, even in Ramadan.

With barely a few weeks left, there's little time for us to prepare kids for Ramadan. Here are a couple of ideas to help make it special this year.

Hold a family meeting about Ramadan

Fasting has its advantages from the point of view of health and hygiene. Islam wants a Muslim to be healthy, clean, alert, agile and energetic. "Fast to be healthy," had said the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). And physicians today acknowledge the many benefits of fasting that ensure health and the soundness of one's body and mind. Some of these positive points have a direct influence on psychology and physique of the fasting individual.
