The Man

DEATH OF ABU TALIB AND KHADIJAH (May Allah be pleased with her)

Soon after the end of the boycott, in the tenth year of his mission, the Prophet (peace be upon him) lost his uncle, Abu Talib and his loving wife, Khadijah (May Allah be pleased with her). Both were his protectors, tried and true helpers and devotedly attached to him. Their deaths meant a great loss to the Prophet (peace be upon him) who at that time was already destined to encounter as many adversities in succession soon thereafter.

SPARKLING ELOQUENCE OF THE QURAN

Firstly: The Weak Influence Of Previous Prophets In The Arabian Peninsula

The influence of prophet hood and divine guidance was negligible in the Arabian Peninsula due to the fact that no prophet was ever sent to the Arabian Peninsula before the coming of Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was the last and final prophet sent to all of mankind. Allah, the Most High, informs us that the Arabs were never sent a prophet in His statement:

Fourthly: Authority Held By Tribal Chieftains And Importance Of Adhering To Tribal Customs Regarding Leadership

The Arabs were a tribal people with deep-rooted cultural habits and practices that governed most aspects of their lives including tribal conflicts, nobility, rulership and political power struggles over leadership positions.

Sixthly: The Believers Were Living Under The Rulership Of The Unbelievers Of Their People

The Messenger of Allah faced the relentless and untiring plot of the unbelievers without any weapons except the weapon of firm belief in Allah and in His promise and without any strength except strength of determination and willfulness.

Islam was then further strengthened by the conversion of Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) to the truth as brought about by the Prophet of God peace be upon him.

Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) was one of the nobles of the Quraysh, broad-shouldered, tall and brave. He was feared and respected by all. How the Prophet peace be upon him wished that he should accept Islam, as he often prayed to God for showing him the right path.

Author: Adil Salahi, Arab News

History has not recorded the detailed life of any person in the same way as it has done in the case of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This is due to the fact that his practices, particularly in matters of religion, provide an example that we are urged by God to follow.

Fethullah Gülen

As for compassion, tenderness and mercy to all creation, Allah said about him: "Grievous to him is what you suffer, anxious for you, compassionate is he, merciful to the believers." (10:128) Allah says: "We only sent you as a mercy to all the worlds." (21:107)

Part of his excellence is that Allah gave him two of His names, saying: "merciful, compassionate to the believers."

Q. Muhammad is a great man and a distinguished politician that is OK. But why do you insist that he is a Prophet? What does it matter?

A. It is not our decision; it is the decision of the Creator Who chose him to be the final Prophet and Messenger of God to Humanity at large until the Day of Judgment. God has sent Prophet Muhammad to all humanity as a mercy, and he has been sent as a mercy to every creature in the world as well, including people, animals, plants, environments, and even as a mercy to jinn.
