The Sealed Nectar

The Sealed Nectar by Shaykh Safi ur-Rahman

Prophet Muhammad's kindness

Towards Children

He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) was especially fond of children and used to get into the spirit of childish games in their company. He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) would have fun with the children who had come back from Abyssinia and tried to speak in Abyssinian with them. It was his practice to give lifts on his camel to children when he returned from journeys. [Al-Bukhari]

He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) would pick up children in his arms, play with them, and kiss them. A companion, recalling his childhood, said: "In my childhood I used to fell dates by throwing stones at palm trees. Somebody took me to the Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) who advised me to pick up the dates lying on the ground but not to fell them with stones. He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) then patted me and blessed me." [Abu Daawood]

The Prophet’s humbleness

Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) was a perfect model of modesty and humbleness. He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) never spoke loudly or in an unseemly manner. In the market, he always passed by the people quietly with a smile. Whenever he heard anything undesirable in an assembly, he did not say anything out of respect for the people, but the color of his face showed his feelings and the Companions became cautious. `Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that she never saw Allah's Messenger  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) laughing so that she could see his molar teeth, for he only used to smile.

The truth about Prophet Muhammad

Loving him is following him

Muslims all over the world are deeply hurt by the recent caricatures of our beloved Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) in Danish and several other publications.

Every now and then, some Western media outlets provoke Muslims by insulting the Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ). The baiting often succeeds in eliciting Muslims' outrage and sporadic violence.

The latest incident started with a Danish newspaper's caricature portraying the Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) as a terrorist. To add insult to injury, Norwegian, French, German, Dutch and a few other newspapers reprinted the defamatory cartoons to "defend"—they claimed—the freedom of expression.

Prophet Muhammad's manners and disposition

Allah Says (what means): "By the grace of Allah, you are gentle towards the people; if you had been stern and ill-tempered, they would have dispersed from round about you" [Quran, 3: 159]

About himself the prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) said: "Allah has sent me as an apostle so that I may demonstrate perfection of character, refinement of manners and loftiness of deportment." [Maalik and Ahmad]

The Prophet Muhammad: A Mercy for all Creation

Allah's Messenger  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) was the kindest of men in the same way as he excelled all others in courage and valour. Being extremely kind-hearted, his eyes brimmed with tears at the slightest sign of inhumanity. A Companion, Shaddaad bin 'Aws, may Allah be pleased with him, reported the Apostle as saying: “Allah has commanded you to show kindness to everyone, so if you have to kill, kill in a good manner, and if you slaughter an animal, slaughter it gently.

A Glimpse of Paradise - II

Allah The Almighty has created Paradise for His believing slaves; He has created in it pleasures that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, and no mind could ever comprehend. Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) said: “Allah, the Exalted, has said: `I have prepared for my righteous slaves (in Paradise) what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and the mind of no man has conceived.`” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
